meinGPT is a German GmbH, hosts with Hetzner in Germany, holds ISO 27001:2022 and ships training and rollout support alongside the software — a real advantage when introducing AI in a company. We are not claiming anything there is insecure. The difference lies elsewhere, and it is stated in their own documentation.

What this is about — and what it is not

This is not about data “leaking” at meinGPT; their contracts and certification are in order. It is about WHO operates the models: if your request runs through Azure or Google Vertex, a US corporation is the processor — even when the server sits in Sweden or Frankfurt. The US CLOUD Act addresses companies, not server locations. Anyone who wants that question out of their data protection concept needs an AI provider based in the EU itself.

Being honest about ourselves

meinGPT holds ISO 27001 and we do not yet — a genuine lead we will not talk away. meinGPT also offers a larger model catalogue, Office integrations and its own academy. And with us too, US frontier models can be used — but only if your organisation explicitly enables them, it is logged, and never in the default or auto mode.
