Server location is not provider jurisdiction

“Data in Germany” describes where the disk sits. It does not describe which company performs the processing. If the models come from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, a US company is involved in that processing — even with European operation and even with a zero-data-retention contract. This is not an accusation and not a proven data outflow, but a structural property worth knowing before you describe it in your data protection concept.

Being honest about ourselves

DeutschlandGPT holds ISO 27001 and BSI-C5-certified hosting with Telekom — on evidence they are ahead of us. They also have Office add-ins, desktop and mobile apps and a workflow builder that we do not (yet) have. And with us too, US frontier models can be used — but only after an explicit, logged opt-in by your organisation.
